So much snow, early morning coffee, and a great show

A great weekend of skiing...threw in a little music, some good food, and a flick.

There is so much snow on the mountain...it was amazing...went up early Sat...Seriously waist deep and light. Tons of snow deep...

Got back into town rested a bit, got some dinner in NW and hit the Josh Ritter show...a great show to say the least...I had one of those moments where you want to tell someone who isn't there about how amazing it was, try and describe the music, your mood, what a great end to the day...but you just kinda hold it to yourself, stash it away, because you can't really relay to anyone else those moments. Went to bed early, got up early and did it again.

Listen to some Josh Ritter...better yet, see him next time he is in town.

Carbon, Sun, Pavement...

Sold the Kona and picked up the new Lapierre 396 this week. This bike is so so nice! I have never had the pleasure of riding a bike so nice... words don't do it justice...Sweet! I think it weighs less than my cross bike.

Went out to Sincline on Sat to climb it a bit. I can't get over how beautiful that place is.(some photos from last spring) It was gorgeous and sunny out, probably in the 60's. Did some loops to the top and a run on Maui Pools while Hector and Gabe rode little moab. Took a nap in the grass, drank some beers while the sun set on Mt Hood, got back into town had a big dinner, some beer and a bit of the whiskey.

Got up early this morning and headed down to the Cherry Pie Road Race. (Photo Set). First real road race I have done...it was fun, I'll do more. I stuck to my plan and everything went well. I sat in the pack, there wasn't much in the way of attacks, and I made sure I was in place for any. We started out with 75 riders, but after the first 15 min or so we had dropped 3/4's of the pack and were in a break if you could call it that. I ended up in 5th or 6th. Should have gone just slightly earlier in the end I think.

No school tomorrow. Going to hit the mountain hard early and get back for some homework, cleaning, more homework. It's snowing on the mountain tonight, supposed to snow all week up there.

Food, laziness...

Had a lazy weekend of getting some HW done, cleaning the house, doing taxes, cooking, and eating way too much. We decided to have a "Snack Off" to see who could come up with the best Apps. I ended up cooking up stuffed mushrooms... Stuffed with mushroom, breadcrumbs, butter, and wine. Also added a 7 layer dip to the mix....D cooked up some spinach artichoke action, H some wings, Cate some cookies, Gabe some sort of stuffed burrito thing that won...it was good...I am gonna bring some for lunch tomorrow. Here's the scene.

That's my weekend, another crazy week ahead. It was beautiful out today, supposed to get rainy later in the week. I have Spanish class tomorrow, grad school Tues & Wed, meet management Thurs and an interview for summer gig Fri...Gotta plan for Guatemala, call a contractor, run Phife, do some reading, ride, ride, ride...yep that's it.

Ahhh School...

Seems like this blog is getting to be a weekend thing...ah maybe because school kicks my ass all week? Okay so this week was a bit nuts, I had something everyday, whether it was working after school Mon and Thurs, class Tues and Wed nights, or having a sub thursday for meetings all day. Taking the weekend off from the mountain to do taxes, clean the house, bring Phife to the park, cook a bunch of food, and watch TV.

Getting really excited about spring break...looks like back to Guatemala. Gonna take some Spanish class, travel a bit more, and just explore. I have been taking a Spanish class Mondays, but I am excited to really practice some more and just immerse myself in it.

Also getting really excited about my tax return...got a good chunk...gonna pay off some debt, look at fixing my back porch up, and see what's left for a new bike....Cross? XC Race Bike...not sure...

Been Listening to Brand New on the bike. A student gave me their newer album...makes me ride extra fast.
