Sooo...

I guess this blog still lives. I am going to attempt to keep it going as a training journal of sorts and as a way to keep the fam updated on life in Bend...So without further ado...

What's been going on, lets see since the last post.

-Bike racing
-Quitting my job
-Getting a new job
-Selling my house
-Living and working in Belize
-Moving to Bend
-Riding bikes a lot
-Buying a new house
-Racing CROSS!!!!

Well that about brings this blog up to speed.

So as for cross, it's been a good season. I had such a bad season last year as a B...mechanicals, grad school getting in the way of training, sickness, ah the list goes on, but I had wanted to come out strong last year, see how I felt and upgrade...didn't happen. This last spring I was so busy I barely got to ride, selling a house, moving my life to Bend, and finishing school didn't help one bit, then I left for the summer. Didn't get back to Oregon till mid August, but I hit the biking hard once I did. I wasn't sure how my fitness was come cross season, I felt good, but I hadn't been riding much. Thrilla races on weeknights were a great way to get ready, getting lapped by trebon and not getting lapped by trebon, but they didn't give me much indication of where I would be finishing come crusade races. I had a good race in Hood River to start the season, started the first lap in the VERY back...and I ended up moving all the way up the whole race, finished 6th. Okay with that. Alpenrose...what a fun race, I was battling it out for 2nd the whole race, felt really strong and was making my attack on the last lap, came out of the woods and got a flat!!! had to run the rest and still ended up 20th, but that shit happens. I'm not going to fill in the details of all the races, but it's been a good season and I have felt strong, I have only improved my results as the season progressed so I am happy with that. Ended up finishing 5th overall in the series, and that is with one less race because of my flat and being gone for the weekend there were two races. Not too shabby. That means a big ol' upgrade for me next season. That also means I have to motivate to be ready for the A's come fall. I know we will be traveling again so it means hitting it hard in Aug and being in shape this spring. Regardless it'll be about 6 weeks off the bike in the summer, but so it goes.

So there is still a bunch of great racing left, some races in Eugene, Kruegers, and the two USGP races. I am gonna give the A race a go at Krugers, it'll be smaller and I am feeling good so far, sticking to my tues, thrus intervals and getting some rest Fri. Sat is the harvest party so we'll see how that treats me before the race. I won the begginer race back in the day after the harvest party...I did throw up, but still, a win is a win. Okay, more as it develops. It's gonna snow sooooon. Got a pass and I am gonna get in on some skate skiing as well. That'll do for now.
