The offical guide is out, including a story of team Sunnyside sports own Don Leet. If you are in Bend for cyclocross nationals, stop by Sunnyside Sports (the best bike shop in Oregon by far) and visit with Don, he is a wealth of knowledge and will be happy to help you with anything.

Any idea if the course has some up/down in it? Any behind the scenes intell?
There is a good run up, but as far as riding any climbs, not so much. Lots of twists and turns, but otherwise fairly flat. http://bit.ly/1tOgLH see the small elevation on the west side of where the course is (along colorado ave)...this is the run up. Look for a link that will have a video of the course in the coming weeks.
